Authenticating with an Account Other Than the Administrator Account (Microsoft)

If the account that created the application in Microsoft Entra and the account that authenticates are different, a "Need admin approval" screen may appear and authentication cannot be completed as it is. This page introduces the settings needed in that case. These settings are needed only when the authenticating account is an organizational Microsoft 365 account.

Grant admin consent

Select "Enterprise applications" from the navigation menu, then select the application you created.

Select "Security" > "Permissions", then click "Grant admin consent for (organization name)".

This needs to be done only once per application. After that, any account in the organization can get a refresh token without approval each time.
