Action

This plugin changes field values or copies data from other apps according to the conditions you specify. It runs not only when fields are entered but can also be triggered by a process action or a button click. It works with the plugins in the Boost! series, so you can run additional processes after a plugin changes a record.

SETTING

Setup

01

Specify the conditions

First, specify the conditions under which the process runs.

Settings

Conditions for operation
Specify the conditions of the records to process.
Authorized users
To allow execution based on the logged-in user, or the departments and groups the user belongs to, in addition to the conditions for operation, specify who is allowed.
Action Available Event
Specify the event that runs the process (After Field Value Change, After Record Creation Shown, After Record Edit Shown, After Record Reuse Shown, Process Action, Clicking the button on the record detail page, or Bulk Execution from List View).

For details on the injector, see the Boost! Injector page.

02

Specify the items for the event

Some events have additional items to specify.

Settings

Narrowing Down Trigger Fields
If you specify "After Field Value Change" as the event, specify the fields that trigger the process. If none are specified, a change to any field value is a trigger.
Action Name
If you specify "Process Action" as the event, specify the action name.
Execute Button Label
If you specify "Clicking the button on the record detail page" or "Bulk Execution from List View" as the event, enter the label of the execute button.
Execution Confirmation Dialog Message
If you specify "Clicking the button on the record detail page" or "Bulk Execution from List View" as the event, enter the message of the confirmation dialog.
Executable List View
If you specify "Bulk Execution from List View" as the event, specify the views in which the execute button is shown.

Some fields cannot be overwritten when a process action runs.

Fields that can be overwritten when a process action runs +

When a table is used as the trigger, the process runs when rows are added or deleted.

03

Specify the settings

Next, specify the process to run when the conditions are met.

Settings

Delete table rows
Specify the table whose rows are deleted.
Add table rows
Specify the table to which rows are added, and the target number of rows or a formula.
Inserting fixed values or calculation results
Specify the field to insert into and a fixed value or function.
Lookup
Copies field values from records in another app.
Copy User Information
Copies information about the user selected in a user selection field to fields.

In "Delete table rows", if you specify fields in the table to delete as conditions for operation, only the rows that match the conditions are deleted.

In "Add table rows", rows are added for the number obtained by subtracting the current number of rows from the target number. If there are already at least as many rows as the target, no rows are added. To add one row to the existing rows, enter "ROWS(%field code of the table%)+1".

In "Desired number of rows or calculation formula" of "Add table rows", you can specify a fixed value or a function that returns the number of days in the month of a date field.

Specifying the number of rows dynamically in "Add table rows" +

To enter a fixed value, enclose it in double quotation marks.

When you run multiple functions on fields in a table, the function at the top is applied to all table rows first, and then the next function runs.

03

Run in bulk from the list view

If you specify "Bulk Execution from List View" as the event, the execute button appears here.

TIPS

Supplementary information

01

Use a check box like a button

To run a process with a click while editing a record, like the "Lookup" button of a lookup field, use a check box.

02

Clear the check during the process

Add to the conditions for operation that a specific value of the check box is selected, and clear that check during the process. This lets you run the process with a click.

03

Place lookup and clear buttons

Just like a lookup field, you can also place lookup and clear buttons.
